Welcome to the homepage of ‘The Legionnaires’ Sevens Rugby team
‘The Legionnaires’ is a newly formed invitational sevens team with big aspirations. The team was formed by David Beynon and Paul Rumming on May 1st 2008 with the sole intention of becoming one of the best sevens sides in the United Kingdom over the coming seasons.
On this site you will be able to keep up to date with all ‘Legionnaire’ activity and can easily monitor the progress ‘The Legionnaires’ have made in the last few months by looking through the ‘Latest News’ section. In addition, the ‘Current Legionnaires’ section provides the details of the players that have committed themselves as available for selection by 'The Legionnaires'.
‘The Legionnaires’ recently competed in the Acorn Newquay Surf 7s competition in Cornwall. This was our inaugural event and the first ever Legionnaire team did themselves proud by getting to the Quarter Finals in the main cup competition. ‘The Legionnaires’ have also been fortunate to secure the services of Nick Rudling as our 'Honorary Team Photographer' so pictures from the Newquay 7’s are now also available in the ‘Gallery Section’.
